The jungle lizard!

This is my lizard Steve, wandering around the cage and he is probably looking for a place to sleep. Terry prefers to explore the cage and Steve prefers to sleep, but today he prefers to be adventurous and Terry likes to be sleepy today. For some strange reason I think they have swapped bodies.

Princess's busy life

This is our guinea pig, Princess. She is very nice and cuddly and when you bath her she just feels soooooo..oooo soft. I really like her because she eats, she eats, she eats, and eats and eats. I also like her becuase she is cuddly. In the first picture you can see that she really likes grass.

Terry trying to be dominant

This first pictures are my lizard Terry arm waving at Steve (in the second picture the one sitting on the piece of wood at the back). The lizards do this to show do this to show dominance which means who's in charge of the cage. The one who is not dominant arm waves to the one who is dominant who is the one who head bobs, which is Steve.

This picture is Terry sitting on the piece of wood, trying to be dominate over Steve :-)

And this picture is Terry frowning at the camera because he isn't in charge.

The little gecko

My Mum found this gecko on the bench one night and my Dad is holding it and it lost its tail. Another night that my Poppy and my Nanny were staying here, my Poppy while he was cleaning at the front door, he saw quite a couple of geckos. Most of them were little ones and he found one big one. The picture of the finger is my Dad's finger as well.

Funny photos in the bath

Steve is on the right in the first picture and the left in the second picture.

This is Steve and Terry having a bath and the reason why they are popping their heads out is that they are trying to escape and explore. They are not toads even though they look like them :-)

The third pictureis Terri after he has finished swimming lessons, and the fourth is him trying to escape.

I bath them in a blue ice cream container in warm water.

My Terri doing schoolwork

This is Terri the dragon doing my schoolwork. I enjoyed it because I got a day off math because he did it for me though I got in a little bit of trouble because he did messy writing :-).

Queen Princess

This is my silly looking Princess, dressed up as a queen. She is very funny when I dress her up and her favourite food is tomato but she still likes carrot and corn.

Dragons have an outdoor cage

Here is some photos of my dragons and two videos.

We bought some bok choi and they love eating it - especially Steven, he gobbles it up as quick as he can. All I have to do is wiggle it a little to make it look like something alive and he'll eat it.

The reason why we got our nextdoor neighbour to help to build the cage is because we weren't very good at building at all.

Monday 2 April 2007

We built a cage for the lizards and they sit out all day in it. We had to do this because they got broken bones because they didn't get enough calcium powder and the bones couldn't absorb the calcium, so we need to put them out in the UV light.

We went to Bunnings to get some material to build the cage and our next door neighbour helped us to put it all together & then while we were away on holidays (for 2 days) he finished building it.

Tomorrow I'll put some photos of the cage and of them swimming in their bath... a video actually.

Terri's funny looking shedding

Terri has been shedding a lot recently and she has flappy skin all around her neck and it looks really funny. Steven seems to be finished shedding but Terri keeps going on and on. Now I know why Terri makes so much noise at night. She is scratching herself against the log to help her shed her skin. Steven isn't as loud, he just goes up into the corner of the hiding box. Even if I haven't turned off the light yet and it is late at night, Steven still goes up into his corner of the hiding box. Steve and Terri are going very well though, they are eating, they are drinking and they look very healthy, and now I can hand feed them veggies. We have got another lizard which is just a garden skink. The reason why we kept him is because he had lost two of his legs on one side and he couldn't survive in the wide, so we decided to keep him. His name is Jason, and he eats the crickets just like Steve and Terri but he doesn't hand feed and he doesn't jump for them. He also eats veggies. I will post a photo of him tomorrow.

Shedding!!!!

Today we discovered that Steve is shedding his skin. In the photo, (in the bottom left corner) on his tail, near where you think it would be Terri's foot, you can slightly see the skin coming off.

They bath in the water dish

Yesterday Terry didn't seem to eat as much as usual and now I have discovered that Steve is larger than Terry, but when I got them Terry was larger and they have both grown larger.

But today Terry is eating a lot and a lot. She is eating more than Steve even, and because we don't have small crickets, I just snap the larger ones in half. Because the abdomen is a little too big, I just put it in between my fingers and then I offer it too them. I have a tug a war with them and they they have to snap a bit off and I give the little bit left to the other one.

Today I built them a hide box out of a Koala Crisp box that I had finished this morning. I cut two little holes in the side and they like to run in them. I put a hole in the top and they come in and out of it and then I put a second layer on so they could sit up there and get more UV light.

I put a water dish in, because they need water. Before that they were too little to have a water dish because they would drown in it. And now they like to lie down in it and bath in it and today I saw them cuddling each other in the water dish. They go in the water dish to cool down because it is nice and cool and they like the water in there. After they have been in the water they go back into the heat to warm up.

Now Ollie, here is the answer to your question. I didn't realise the plate had exploded. Mummy told me but I didn't hear and later I looked in the microwave and found that it had exploded and the food was completely black.
